Book: The Ickabog
Author: JK Rowling
Pages: 304
This is my 32nd read for the year
A power hungry member of the Royal Palace decides to bring the Ickabog to life to gain control over the people. Things quickly spirl out of control for the Palace as a lie is hard to keep secret. Children Berty and Daisy set out to find out the truth about the Ickabog once and for all knowing that it could help not only their own families, but the whole town.
This was a cute book. It is definitley written as a children's book, but there is a lot of murder, so I would caution reading this with younger children. I love that Rowling included art of children throughout the book. The story is a cute one with a good message: What happens when a lie spirals out of control and all your time is consumed by trying to cover it up.
